How to Turn Any Negative Situation Around: Spiritual Weapons for Stubborn Situations

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” — Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
Even as a believer you have probably faced a situation that seemed stuck at some point. It might been years without a good satisfying job, a sickness that didn't immediately respond to treatment, a business that didn't grow the way you anticipated, a church that didn't grow in membership, a marriage under strain, a delayed promise, or a pattern of failure that seemed to run in the family. When the same negative situation keeps repeating, it is easy to believe that this is just how things will always be. It is not. By the mercies of God, there is a way out, and fast.
The Bible shows us that this is not how things have to be. Scripture is full of people whose stories were turned around, some after years of pain and some after days of hardships. Two Biblical examples immediately stand out as models for anyone facing a negative situation: Jabez, a man whose life began with sorrow, and the woman with the issue of blood, who suffered for twelve years. Both refused to accept their condition, and both took deliberate steps that changed their lives.
In this article, we’ll look closely at what they did and how they did it. Then we’ll go through a set of biblical weapons and practices you can use to turn any negative situation around: prayer and fasting, faith, intensive study of the Word, praying in the Spirit, pleading the blood of Jesus, declaring scripture, giving to the poor, binding the enemy, taking practical action, and praise and thanksgiving. Finally, we’ll bring them together into one system you can follow.
Case Study One: Jabez, the Man Who Prayed His Way Out of Sorrow
Jabez’s story takes up only two verses in the Bible, tucked into a long list of names. But those two verses hold a powerful lesson:
“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” — 1 Chronicles 4:9–10 (KJV)
The name Jabez sounds like the Hebrew word for “sorrow” or “pain.” Every time someone called his name, they were in effect saying, “Pain.” In the ancient world (and arguably today) a name often carried the weight of a prophecy, so Jabez started life with a label of sorrow over him.
What Jabez Did; You Can Do It Too to Turn Any Negative Situation Around
1. He refused to accept the label. Jabez didn’t argue with his mother or sink into self-pity. He took his situation to the One who could change it, the Most High God. A negative beginning doesn’t have to become a negative destiny. At any time you want a change, you can go to the Creator and He can re-create your life and destiny.
2. He lived honourably. The Bible says Jabez “was more honourable than his brethren.” His prayer came from a life of integrity. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16, KJV). Even now, whether you are going through anything difficult or not, make peace with God, and draw close to Him and live a life of holiness and integrity. The scripture says in 1 Peter 1:16 [New International Version] for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
3. He called on the God of Israel. Jabez didn’t call on just any god. He called on the covenant-keeping God of Israel. He prayed on the basis of God’s covenant, not his own merit. You can call on God at any time. Read Matthew 7: 7 to 11 and meditate on it to understand God's promise to you regarding asking for the things you want and need.
4. He prayed specifically and boldly. His prayer had four clear requests:
“Bless me indeed”: a request for real, substantial blessing. The blessing cancels the curse.
“Enlarge my coast”: a request for expansion and increase.
“That thine hand might be with me”: a request for God’s presence and power.
“Keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me”: a request for protection, and for the sorrow attached to his name to be broken.
5. God answered. “And God granted him that which he requested.” The verse doesn’t say God granted part of it, or granted it after many conditions. He granted it all.
The lesson is that prayer can overturn what circumstances, names and history have said about you. What was spoken over your life at birth, by your family, by your environment or by your past doesn’t have the final word. God does.
Case Study Two: The Woman With the Issue of Blood
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.” — Mark 5:25–29 (KJV)
This woman’s situation was desperate on every level:
Physically, she had bled for twelve years.
Financially, she “had spent all that she had.”
Medically, she “was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.”
Socially and religiously, under the law of Leviticus 15:25–27 her condition made her ceremonially unclean. Anyone she touched became unclean, which cut her off from worship and from normal life.
Every human solution had failed. Yet in one day, her story was completely turned around. Kenneth Hagin wrote a book about this which you can find summarised in the article How To Write Your Own Ticket With God
What She Did and How She Did It; You Can Do It Too to Turn Any Negative Situation Around
1. She heard. “When she had heard of Jesus...” Faith begins with hearing. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17, KJV). What you listen to shapes what you believe. Listen to the Word of God, and sermons by true ministers of God. And study the Word of God.
2. She believed and spoke. “For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” Matthew tells us, “For she said within herself” (Matthew 9:21, KJV). Before her healing showed up in her body, she declared it with her mouth and in her heart. Declare with your mouth and believe in your heart what you are believing that God will do. Say it boldly.
3. She pressed through. She “came in the press behind.” There was a crowd, she was weak from years of bleeding, and the law said she shouldn’t be there. She refused to let any barrier stop her. Turning a situation around often requires pressing past obstacles, opinions and your own weakness.
4. She made contact. She “touched his garment.” Her faith wasn’t passive. She acted on what she believed. “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17, KJV). Act on what you believe.
5. Power flowed. “Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?” (Mark 5:30, KJV). Many people were touching Jesus that day, but only one touch drew power, because it was the touch of faith. The power of Jesus will flow to you to change your situation when you do what the woman with the issue of blood did because God is no respecter of persons [Act 10:35]. See the article What God Does For Others He Can Do For You
6. She testified. When Jesus asked, she came “fearing and trembling... and told him all the truth” (Mark 5:33, KJV). Jesus then declared, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague” (Mark 5:34, KJV). He healed her body, and He also restored her identity, calling her “Daughter.”
The lesson is that faith that hears, speaks, presses and acts will draw God’s power into any situation, no matter how long it has lasted or how many solutions have failed.
Weapons and Practices for Turning Any Negative Situation Around
Jabez prayed. The woman believed and acted. Scripture gives us more weapons for every kind of battle. Here they are one by one.
1. Prayer and Fasting: When the Situation Is Stubborn
When the disciples couldn’t cast a demon out of a young boy, they asked Jesus why. He told them it was partly because of their unbelief (Matthew 17:20), and then said:
“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” — Matthew 17:21 (KJV)
“This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” — Mark 9:29 (KJV)
Some situations are stubborn. They don’t move with a quick prayer. Fasting humbles the flesh, sharpens your spiritual focus, deepens your dependence on God and strengthens your faith. Fasting also increases spiritual power because during fasting, you don't feed the flesh, rather you exercise the spirit and through prayer and study of the Word of God, expand and grow spiritually and in power. Breakthroughs, deliverances, and liftings happen as a result of a fast. God describes the fast He has chosen this way:
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” — Isaiah 58:6 (KJV)
Esther fasted for three days before she approached the king, and a decree of death against her whole nation was reversed (Esther 4:16). When a situation won’t move, set aside time to fast and pray. You could fast until noon or 6pm for a set number of days, or follow a Daniel-style fast, according to your health and as the Lord leads. See the article The Powerful Benefits of Fasting and Prayer
2. Deploy Your Faith
Faith isn’t just something you have. It’s something you use. Jesus said:
“Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” — Mark 11:22–23 (KJV)
Notice that Jesus didn’t tell us to talk about the mountain. He told us to speak to it. The woman with the issue of blood spoke her faith before she saw any result. Paul describes the same spirit of faith: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13, KJV).
To deploy your faith:
Believe God’s promise more than the facts in front of you.
Speak to the situation and command it to line up with God’s Word.
Act as though God’s Word is true, because it is.
Refuse to be moved by delay. “Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6, KJV). See the article Harnessing the Power of Faith to Transform Your Life
3. Intense, Multi-Chapter Study of the Word Daily
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” — Ephesians 3:20–21 (KJV)
God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, but notice the phrase “according to the power that worketh in us.” The size of what God does through you is connected to the power at work inside you. One of the main ways that power grows is through the Word of God.
The Word is not ordinary text. “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29, KJV). “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20, KJV). The Word is “able to build you up” (Acts 20:32, KJV).
A few chapters a day is good, but a stubborn situation calls for more. When you are in a battle, go deep:
Read several chapters daily, read from ten and upwards, especially from the New Testament. Read the Gospels, Acts, and the Epistles. Also study Psalms and Proverbs.
Study the promises related to your situation. If you need healing, read every healing account in the Gospels. If you need a breakthrough, study the stories of turnaround in Scripture.
Meditate on it day and night. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night... for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8, KJV).
As the Word fills you, faith rises, fear leaves, and the power at work in you grows. The more of God’s Word you take in, the more of His power is released through you.
4. Let the Holy Spirit Pray Through You: Praying in the Spirit for Long Hours
Most times you don’t know how to pray about a situation. It’s too complex, too painful or too confusing. Even when you feel you know what you are praying for, you actually do not know in full the spiritual warfare behind the situation, or the people, and actions of people and spirits operating behind the scene to aggravate and prolong the situation. You also may not know what it will take to come out of the situation. That’s exactly where the Holy Spirit comes in:
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” — Romans 8:26–27 (KJV)
When you pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit prays through you, and He always prays according to the will of God. He knows what is behind the situation, what needs to be dealt with, and what needs to be released. Paul says, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God... howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2, KJV). He also adds, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4, KJV).
Jude tells us to keep building ourselves up this way: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 1:20, KJV).
When you face a challenge, set aside long, unhurried periods of two, three hours or more to pray in the Spirit. Do it again and again until you sense a release or peace in your spirit. Pray “always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance” (Ephesians 6:18, KJV).
During a fast, set aside hours and pray in the spirit. A pastor taught that when you pray in the spirit on an issue for 6 hours or more, a solution will come forth. Push yourself and pray in tongues for six hours, twelve hours, or more on an issue and you will see stubborn problems disintegrate and solutions arise. Do this regularly wether there is a stubborn challenge or not and your life will be full of God's power, blessings, and serendipities.
If you haven’t yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4), ask the Father for it. “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13, KJV). Jesus is the baptiser, ask Jesus to baptise you with the Holy Spirit. Read and meditate on John 1:33 and Matthew 3:11
5. Plead the Blood of Jesus Over the Situation
As we explained in our article The Power in the Blood of Jesus — and How to Plead It Over Your Life, pleading the blood is not begging. It is presenting the evidence of what Jesus has done, the way a lawyer presents evidence in court. The blood has to be applied, just as Israel applied the blood of the Passover lamb to their doorposts. “And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you” (Exodus 12:13, KJV).
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” — Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
The blood breaks curses: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13, KJV). It speaks on your behalf: “the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel” (Hebrews 12:24, KJV). And because you are covered by it, “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel” (Numbers 23:23, KJV).
When pleading the blood over a stubborn situation, don’t do it once and move on. Do it continuously, for extended periods, repeating, “I plead the blood of Jesus over...” until you sense a breakthrough in your spirit.
Example 1: A job seeker whose applications keep failing.
Imagine someone who has applied for dozens of jobs. They’re qualified, but they never get shortlisted. When they do get interviews, something always goes wrong at the last minute. It feels as though their CV and certificates are cursed.
That person should lay the CV and certificates out before them, lay hands on them, and spend hours pleading the blood of Jesus over them:
“I plead the blood of Jesus over this CV. I plead the blood of Jesus over my certificates. I plead the blood of Jesus over my degree certificate. I plead the blood of Jesus over every application I have sent and every one I will send. I plead the blood of Jesus over the eyes and hearts of every recruiter and employer who will read my CV. I plead the blood of Jesus against every curse, every evil hand and every satanic delay assigned against my career. Christ has redeemed me from the curse, so no curse can stand against these documents. I plead the blood of Jesus over my interviews and over my mouth when I speak. I plead the blood of Jesus over my career and my destiny...”
Keep going, over and over, for as long as it takes.
Example 2: A business with no customers
Imagine a business owner whose shop is well located and well stocked, but customers walk past as though the shop doesn’t exist, and sales have dried up.
That person should go into the shop, or lay hands on the products, invoices and business account, and plead the blood of Jesus for hours:
“I plead the blood of Jesus over this shop. I plead the blood of Jesus over the entrance and over every product on these shelves. I plead the blood of Jesus over my business name and my business account. I plead the blood of Jesus against every spirit of stagnation, rejection and invisibility assigned to this business. I plead the blood of Jesus over every customer God is sending to me. I plead the blood of Jesus over every phone call, every enquiry and every order...”
You can apply the same pattern to your body in sickness, your children, your marriage, your home, your travels or your finances.
6. Find at Least Three Scriptures and Declare Them Day and Night
God’s Word establishes things: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established” (2 Corinthians 13:1, KJV). Find at least three scriptures that promise exactly what you need, and use them as your witnesses before God. Write them down. Memorise them. Declare them morning, noon and night.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” — Job 22:28 (KJV)
God also promises, “I will hasten my word to perform it” (Jeremiah 1:12, KJV).
For example:
For a job or career breakthrough: Deuteronomy 28:12–13, Psalm 75:6–7, Proverbs 22:29.
For healing: Isaiah 53:5, Exodus 23:25, 1 Peter 2:24.
For provision: Philippians 4:19, Psalm 23:1, 2 Corinthians 9:8.
Declare them aloud in the first person: “The LORD shall open unto me His good treasure. He will bless the work of my hands. I shall be the head and not the tail.” Keep declaring until what you see matches what you say.
7. Give to the Poor and Less Privileged
One of the most overlooked keys to turning a situation around is compassion toward people in need:
“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.” — Psalm 41:1–3 (KJV)
Look at what God promises the person who considers the poor:
Deliverance in time of trouble.
Preservation and long life.
Blessing on the earth.
Protection from enemies.
Strength and healing in sickness.
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” — Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)
When you give to the poor, you are lending to God, and God never stays in debt to anyone. Cornelius was a man whose generosity went up before God, and the angel told him, “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God” (Acts 10:4, KJV). His giving opened the door for the Gospel to come to his whole household.
God also links caring for others with our own turnaround: “Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?... Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily” (Isaiah 58:7–8, KJV).
Even if you have little, give something. Feed someone, pay tuition for someone who is less priviledged, buy groceries for a widow, support an orphanage or visit the sick. The widow of Zarephath gave Elijah her last meal, and her barrel of meal and cruse of oil didn’t run out for the rest of the famine (1 Kings 17:12–16).
8. Bind the Enemy Operating Behind the Scenes
Many negative situations are not merely natural. Paul reminds us, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12, KJV).
Jesus has given believers authority to deal with these powers:
“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” — Matthew 18:18 (KJV)
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” — Luke 10:19 (KJV)
Scripture also shows where rebellious spirits belong:
“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” — Jude 1:6 (KJV)
The demons themselves knew they had a place of confinement. They begged Jesus “that he would not command them to go out into the deep” (Luke 8:31, KJV), and cried out, “art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29, KJV).
So take your authority. In the Name of Jesus, bind every devil and demon operating behind the scenes of your situation, and command them to go back to hell, the place reserved for them:
“In the Name of Jesus, I bind every spirit of delay, rejection, sickness, stagnation and failure operating against my life. I bind you, and I command you to loose your hold on my life, my family, my finances and my destiny. I send you back to hell, to the chains of darkness reserved for you until the judgment of the great day. You have no legal right here, for I am covered by the blood of Jesus. And I loose the blessings, favour, help and open doors God has ordained for me, in Jesus’ Name.”
Remember the order: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7, KJV). Your authority over the enemy flows from your submission to God.
9. Do the Practical Things
Spiritual warfare is never a substitute for practical action. The two work together. When Nehemiah’s enemies conspired against the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall, he wrote, “Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night” (Nehemiah 4:9, KJV). He prayed and posted guards.
The woman with the issue of blood didn’t just believe at home. She got up, went out and pressed through the crowd. Jabez prayed for enlarged territory, and then he had to work it.
“If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.” — Ecclesiastes 10:10 (KJV)
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” — Proverbs 22:29 (KJV)
If the problem is at work, take weekend and night classes to build your competence in the relevant area. Get certified. Learn new tools and skills. Ask for feedback and improve. If the problem is in your business, study your market, improve your products, sharpen your customer service and learn digital marketing. If the problem is in your health, follow sound medical advice, eat well, rest and exercise while you stand in faith.
Daniel and his friends were found “ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm” (Daniel 1:20, KJV). God’s favour rested on prepared people. “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury” (Proverbs 14:23, KJV).
10. Use the Weapon of Praise and Thanksgiving
Praise is one of the most powerful and possibly most underused weapons in the believer’s arsenal. When three armies came against Judah, King Jehoshaphat put singers in front of the army:
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.” — 2 Chronicles 20:22 (KJV)
Paul and Silas were beaten and locked in the inner prison, yet “at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God... And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” (Acts 16:25–26, KJV). Jonah prayed from the belly of the fish, “I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving,” and immediately “the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land” (Jonah 2:9–10, KJV).
As we shared in How Thanksgiving Produces Miracles and Breakthroughs, Jesus gave thanks before the miracle. At the tomb of Lazarus, before Lazarus came out, He prayed, “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me” (John 11:41, KJV). He gave thanks over seven loaves and a few fishes, and four thousand men, besides women and children, were fed, with seven baskets left over (Matthew 15:36–38). Of the ten lepers who were cleansed, only the one who returned to give thanks heard Jesus say, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole” (Luke 17:19, KJV). Thanksgiving brings wholeness to a miracle.
God “inhabitest the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3, KJV). When you praise, you invite God’s presence into your situation. So thank God in advance for the turnaround you’re believing for. Keep a gratitude journal. Fill your home with worship. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). Don’t look to man; look to God. And keep thanking Him until everything manifests.
Putting It All Together: A Complete System for Turning Your Situation Around
Each of these practices is powerful on its own. But when a situation is stubborn and long-standing, don’t rely on just one. Combine them into a disciplined, daily system for a set period, such as 21, 30 or 40 days, and stay with it. Like Jabez, call on the covenant God with specific requests. Like the woman with the issue of blood, hear the Word, believe it, speak it, press through and make contact with God’s power. Fast to break stubbornness.
Deploy your faith by speaking to the mountain. Feed on the Word in large portions so the power at work in you grows. Pray in the Spirit for long hours. Plead the blood of Jesus over every part of the situation. Declare your three scriptures day and night. Give to the poor. Bind the enemy and send him back to where he belongs. Do the practical work. And surround all of it with praise and thanksgiving.
An Example: Breaking Prolonged Unemployment
Consider Nicole, a graduate who has been unemployed for three years. She has sent hundreds of applications, attended a few interviews that led nowhere, and is beginning to believe something is working against her. Here is how she could deploy this system for 40 days:
Prayer and fasting: She fasts until 3pm daily for the 40 days, and spends time in focused prayer, praying the prayer of Jabez: “Lord, bless me indeed, enlarge my coast, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from evil.” Download the prayer booklet and utilise the prayer points in there
The Word: Each morning, she reads at least fifteen chapters of the Bible, reading through the New Testament over and over as well as focusing on accounts of turnaround such as Joseph, Ruth, Esther, Daniel and Nehemiah. And reading Psalms and one chapter of Proverbs daily.
Three scriptures: She writes out Deuteronomy 28:12–13, Psalm 75:6–7 and Proverbs 22:29, sticks them on her wall, and declares them aloud morning, afternoon and night.
Praying in the Spirit: Every evening or at night, she prays in the Holy Spirit for at least four to six hours, and longer on weekends.
Pleading the blood: She lays her CV, degree certificate and other documents on her bed and spends at least an hour pleading the blood of Jesus over them, over every application and over every recruiter, repeating, “I plead the blood of Jesus over...”
Binding the enemy: Daily, in the Name of Jesus, she binds every spirit of delay, rejection and unemployment, commands them back to hell according to Jude 6, and looses favour, divine helpers and open doors.
Giving: Even with little income, she sets aside something every week to help someone in need. She buys food for people who are poor and could use the help, gives to an orphanage, or helps a younger student with transport fare, standing on Psalm 41:1–3.
Practical action: She enrolls in an online course in her field, earns a recognised certification, rewrites her CV professionally, updates her LinkedIn profile, practises interview questions with a friend, attends networking events and applies strategically, not randomly.
Praise and thanksgiving: She starts and ends every day thanking God for the job she hasn’t yet seen. She keeps a gratitude journal where she writes, “Thank You, Lord, for my new job,” along with daily evidence of God’s goodness. You too can turn any negative situation around by applying these weapons and principles.
She keeps at it, even when nothing seems to change in the first weeks. Like the woman who pressed through the crowd, she doesn’t give up. In God’s set time, the same God who turned around Jabez’s sorrow and stopped a twelve-year issue of blood in a moment will turn her situation around too.
A Word of Wisdom
These practices are not a formula to force God’s hand or a way to earn His favour. Everything we receive comes by His grace through Jesus Christ. They are biblical ways of drawing near to God, building your faith, resisting the enemy and positioning yourself to receive what He has already promised. God’s timing is perfect, so stay steadfast: “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9, KJV).
If your situation involves health, keep following your doctor’s advice and treatment while you stand in faith. If you plan to fast and have a medical condition, are pregnant or are on medication, talk to your doctor first.
A Prayer to Begin Your Turnaround
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You that no situation is too hard for You. Like Jabez, I call on You, the covenant-keeping God: bless me indeed, enlarge my coast, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. Like the woman with the issue of blood, I reach out in faith and touch You today. I plead the blood of Jesus over my life and over this situation. I bind every power of darkness working against me and send it back to hell, in Jesus’ Name. Holy Spirit, pray through me, strengthen me, and teach me what to do. I thank You in advance for my turnaround, because You are able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that works in me. Amen.
A Call to Surrender
All of these weapons belong to the children of God. Authority to bind the enemy, access to the blood of Jesus, and the help of the Holy Spirit come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12, KJV).
If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus, the greatest turnaround you can experience starts today, moving from death to life and from darkness into His marvellous light. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV).
If you want to surrender to Jesus today and become a true child of God, pray the Salvation Prayer here.
If you prayed that prayer for the first time, we would love to hear from you. Email us at newlife@lovefaithandmiracles.com
